Computational approaches add significant value to the imaging driven approaches we use in our group.

We have established important collaborations to exploit this synergy, particularly with Visakan Kadirkamanathan in the Department of Automatic Control and Systems Engineering.

These collaborations have changed our understanding of processes such as reverse migration, showing that neutrophils are not driven away from inflammatory sites, but distribute as a consequence of non-directed motion. It’s kind of a long story.

We also helped our collaborator Carlos Reyes-Aldasoro develop his Phagocyte tracking package, specifically for tracking zebrafish leukocytes.
